Herringbone tape
Trims Bangladesh is a herringbone tape manufacturer weaving the broken twill pattern into firm, non-stretch tape for straps, waistband facing and general garment trim. Herringbone and grosgrain share a combined 80,000 yards a day, so repeat volume is rarely the constraint.

What a herringbone tape manufacturer needs to quote
Tape looks simple to specify and is easy to get wrong, because the same width behaves very differently depending on fibre and weight. These six points are enough for us to quote and weave a first sample.
WIDTH
Finished width in millimetres. Narrow tapes for binding and wider ones for strapping run on different set-ups.
FIBRE
Cotton, polyester or a blend. Cotton gives a softer hand and takes reactive dye; polyester holds colour harder and runs cheaper.
WEIGHT
Grams per square metre, or a physical sample for us to match. This is what decides whether the tape feels substantial or flimsy in the hand.
COLOURWAY
Pantone TCX reference or a physical swatch, and whether you need natural undyed stock.
APPLICATION
Strap, waistband facing, seam reinforcement or visible trim. Each loads the tape differently and changes the finish we recommend.
QUANTITY AND MARKET
Order quantity and destination market, which sets the test reports that ship with the goods.
Why the twill weave matters
Herringbone takes its name from a broken twill that reverses direction at regular intervals, giving the V pattern that runs down the tape. The practical consequence is a tape that lies flat and resists stretching along its length, which is what you want from a strap or a waistband facing that must not distort as the garment is worn and handled.
Herringbone and grosgrain run on the same twill-tape machinery and share a combined capacity of 80,000 yards a day. They remain separate SKUs, so you can order either or both on one purchase order. Everything ships from our own floor in Uttarkhan, Uttara — an 18,000 sq ft factory running 24 hours shift-wise with 30 office staff and 135 production workers.
Every lot is checked in our in-house lab against three ISO methods before dispatch — pH (ISO 3071), colour fastness to rubbing (ISO 105 X12) and colour fastness to water (ISO 105 E01). Timing does not change with order size: a physical sample 4 working days from a confirmed spec, and bulk 10 days after you approve that sample. We have exported to more than ten European markets since 2014, so the paperwork your compliance team expects is routine here rather than a special request.

Is herringbone tape sold separately from grosgrain tape?
Yes — they share a combined daily capacity figure but are separate SKUs. Order either or both on the same PO.
