The same job, four different fabrics
“Elastic” isn’t one material — it’s a category of constructions, each built differently for a different feel against the body. A firm woven build holds its shape under repeated stretch and won’t roll at the waistband edge. A knit build trades some of that firmness for softness, which is exactly what you want against bare skin in underwear or activewear. Jacquard adds a woven-in pattern or logo to either base. Button-hole elastic is a functional variant — punched holes rather than a decorative one — built for garments that need to adjust in size, typically children’s and infant wear.
Getting the construction right matters more than it might seem: the wrong elastic on the wrong garment either feels wrong to the wearer or fails early — rolling, losing recovery, or cracking a printed logo. We manufacture all four in-house, so switching between them for different SKUs in the same order doesn’t mean switching suppliers.

Working with an elastic manufacturer rather than a trader
All four constructions are woven and knitted on our own machines in Uttarkhan, Uttara — an 18,000 sq ft factory running 24 hours shift-wise with 30 office staff and 135 production workers. That is the difference that shows up in practice: when a style moves from woven to knit halfway through a season, it is a specification change on an existing order rather than a second supplier to qualify, sample and approve from scratch.
It also means the numbers on this page are our own floor data rather than an industry estimate. Knit runs at 50,000 yards a day, jacquard at 25,000, woven at 20,000; button-hole is made to spec because hole pitch and tape width change the run, and we would rather publish nothing than publish a figure measured on somebody else’s specification.
Every lot is checked in our in-house lab against three ISO methods before dispatch — pH (ISO 3071), colour fastness to rubbing (ISO 105 X12) and colour fastness to water (ISO 105 E01). All four elastics fall inside our STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX certificate 2022OK1327 (AITEX, Product Class I, valid to 31 May 2027), within the certified materials and colourways — send your spec and we will confirm it against your exact construction.

Yes — since all four are made in-house, a single PO can include jacquard for one SKU and knit for another without switching suppliers or lead times shifting.
Which elastic is best for a waistband that won’t roll?
Woven elastic is built specifically for this — its firm, non-roll construction holds shape under repeated wear, unlike a softer knit build.
Can button-hole elastic be made in a specific hole spacing?
