Woven elastic is specified by how it behaves under load, not only by how wide it is. These six details are what we need in order to quote and weave a first sample.
WIDTH
Finished width in millimetres, measured relaxed rather than under tension.
ELONGATION
Target stretch percentage and the recovery you need after repeated wear. This is the number that drives rubber content.
END USE
The garment and the position on it. A trouser waistband, a bra strap and a bag handle load the same tape very differently.
COLOURWAY
Pantone TCX reference or a physical swatch. Undyed and disperse-dyed polyester are both available.
EDGE
Whether you need a standard woven edge or a softer finish where the tape meets skin.
QUANTITY AND MARKET
Order quantity and destination, which sets the test reports and compliance marks that ship with the goods.
Why a woven build does not roll
In a woven elastic the warp runs continuously down the length of the tape and the rubber is bound inside that structure, so the tape resists twisting along its own axis. That is the entire reason a woven build gets specified for structured waistbands: it keeps its width and its flat face after the garment has been worn and laundered dozens of times.
We hold woven elastic at 20,000 yards a day, with knit at 50,000 and jacquard at 25,000 running beside it. Everything ships from our own floor in Uttarkhan, Uttara — an 18,000 sq ft factory running 24 hours shift-wise with 30 office staff and 135 production workers. Nothing is sub-contracted out, so a style that switches from woven to knit mid-season is a specification change on an existing order rather than a new supplier to qualify.
Every lot is checked in our in-house lab against three ISO methods before dispatch — pH (ISO 3071), colour fastness to rubbing (ISO 105 X12) and colour fastness to water (ISO 105 E01). Woven elastic is inside our STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX certificate 2022OK1327, issued by AITEX under Product Class I — the strictest class, the one written for baby articles — valid to 31 May 2027. Coverage is limited to the certified materials and colourways, so send your spec and we will confirm it against your exact construction. Timing does not change with order size: a physical sample 4 working days from a confirmed spec, and bulk 10 days after you approve that sample.

What makes this “non-roll”?
The weave structure is engineered to resist twisting and rolling inside a waistband channel, so it stays flat through repeated wear and wash cycles.
How does this differ from knit elastic?
Woven elastic is firmer and holds its shape more rigidly — knit elastic is softer and stretchier, better suited to underwear and activewear linings.
