Thread is specified by count, fibre and finish, and the wrong combination shows up as skipped stitches on your line rather than as a visible defect. These six points settle it.
TICKET OR COUNT
The thread count or ticket number your line runs. If you are matching an existing thread, the cone label is the fastest thing you can send us.
FIBRE
Polyester for strength and colour hold, cotton for a softer hand and a natural finish. Polyester is the default for construction seams.
SEAM TYPE
Overlock, lockstitch, coverstitch or topstitch, and the machine speed. A thread that runs clean at one speed can fray at another.
COLOURWAY
Pantone TCX reference or a physical swatch of the fabric it stitches. Thread is usually matched to the garment rather than specified independently.
PUT-UP
Cone or spool size and the metreage per unit your line is set up to handle.
QUANTITY AND MARKET

The trim that holds the other trims on
Thread gets specified last and causes problems first. A colour that matched the fabric swatch under office light reads wrong in daylight; a count chosen for one machine skips stitches on another. Both are cheap to catch at the 4-day sample stage and expensive to catch in bulk, which is why we would rather have your fabric swatch and your machine type than a thread code alone.
Sewing thread is made to spec here, so it does not carry a published daily capacity the way our elastics and tapes do. Everything ships from our own floor in Uttarkhan, Uttara — an 18,000 sq ft factory running 24 hours shift-wise with 30 office staff and 135 production workers. Because the thread, the labels, the elastic and the buttons all come from one supplier, colour matching across the whole trim package is one conversation instead of four.
Every lot is checked in our in-house lab against three ISO methods before dispatch — pH (ISO 3071), colour fastness to rubbing (ISO 105 X12) and colour fastness to water (ISO 105 E01). Sewing thread sits inside our STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX certificate 2022OK1327, issued by AITEX under Product Class I — the strictest class, written for baby articles — valid to 31 May 2027, within the certified materials and colourways. A sample takes 4 working days, bulk 10 days after approval.
