What to send a hangtag manufacturer before sampling
A hangtag is judged in the hand, so the specification that matters most is the one people forget to send: the stock. These six points let us quote and produce a first sample.
STOCK WEIGHT
Board weight in gsm, or a physical sample to match. This is what makes a tag feel considered rather than cheap, and it is the detail most often left out of a brief.
SIZE AND SHAPE
Finished dimensions in millimetres, and a die line if the tag is not a plain rectangle.
ARTWORK
Print-ready vector artwork for both faces, with bleed. Tell us which face is the front if the two differ.
FINISH
Matte or gloss lamination, spot varnish, foil or emboss. Finish changes both the look and the lead time, so it is worth fixing early.
HOLE AND ATTACHMENT
Hole position and diameter, whether it needs an eyelet, and what the tag attaches with — string, cord, safety pin or plastic loop.
VARIABLE DATA
Whether size, price or barcode changes per tag, and the full breakdown if so. This decides how the run is set up.
The tag, the string, and the rest of the pack
A hangtag rarely ships alone. It arrives with a string or cord to hang it, often a barcode sticker applied to the back, and sometimes a second tag carrying size or price. When those pieces come from different suppliers, the failure is almost always at the join: a cord that does not match the tag colour, or a sticker sized for a different tag face.
We make the tags, the cords and the barcode stickers on the same site, so the whole point-of-sale set can be specified and approved together rather than assembled from three quotes. Everything ships from our own floor in Uttarkhan, Uttara — an 18,000 sq ft factory running 24 hours shift-wise with 30 office staff and 135 production workers, in operation since 2014.
Timing does not change with order size: a physical sample 4 working days from a confirmed spec, and bulk 10 days after you approve that sample. There is no fixed MOQ published — we quote against your actual spec and quantity. We have exported to more than ten European markets since 2014, so the retail presentation standards your buyer works to are familiar ground.
