What a leather badge manufacturer needs before sampling
Leather behaves differently from woven and printed trims: the material choice drives cost, compliance and finish all at once. These six points settle it.
MATERIAL
Genuine leather or PU. This is the first decision and it affects price, consistency of finish and what your buyer’s compliance policy will accept.
ARTWORK
Vector logo with fonts outlined. Debossing holds bold shapes well and fine hairlines poorly, so we will flag anything too delicate to press cleanly.
MARKING METHOD
Debossed, printed, or debossed with a colour fill. Debossing reads as quality; printing carries detail and colour that pressing cannot.
SIZE AND SHAPE
Finished dimensions in millimetres and a die line for shaped patches.
ATTACHMENT
Sew-on with a stitched border, or applied. Tell us the garment and where on it the patch sits — a denim waistband and a jacket chest load a patch very differently.
QUANTITY AND MARKET
Order quantity and destination market. Leather in particular can carry import documentation requirements that vary by country.
Genuine or PU, and how to decide
Genuine leather gives a patch that ages — it darkens, softens and picks up the character of the garment it travels with, which is exactly what denim brands want. It also varies naturally from piece to piece, and that variation has to be accepted rather than treated as a defect. PU gives you consistency, a lower price and a straightforward answer to buyers whose policy excludes animal materials, at the cost of that ageing.
Neither is the correct answer in general — it depends on the brand and on your buyer’s material policy, which is worth confirming before sampling rather than after. We make both, so the recommendation is not shaped by what we happen to stock. Everything ships from our own floor in Uttarkhan, Uttara — an 18,000 sq ft factory running 24 hours shift-wise with 30 office staff and 135 production workers.
Timing does not change with order size: a physical sample 4 working days from a confirmed spec, and bulk 10 days after you approve that sample. There is no fixed MOQ published — we quote against your actual spec and quantity. We have exported to more than ten European markets since 2014.

Genuine leather or PU — what’s the difference for branding?
Genuine leather takes a deeper deboss and ages with a natural patina; PU is a consistent, lower-cost alternative. Tell us your positioning and we’ll recommend one.
Can our logo be debossed into the leather?
